Erie, Pa – (October 16, 2024) – Big Ideas Learning has been awarded the Civic Beautification Award for Large Garden by the Erie County Council of Garden Clubs. The award was presented during the Council’s annual fall meeting held at Nick’s Place in Erie. This recognition highlights the company’s dedication to enhancing the community through well-maintained and thoughtfully designed landscapes.

The Erie County Council of Garden Clubs evaluates entries from businesses across the county each year. Photos and site visits are reviewed, and gardens are assessed based on their design, use of plant materials, and overall maintenance. Big Ideas Learning’s large garden, which was designed by Kathleen Williams and Claude Allinger at Big Ideas Learning in collaboration with Dahlkemper Landscaping, was praised for its vibrant array of perennials and shrubs, offering colorful blooms and foliage throughout three seasons.

“At Big Ideas Learning, we take pride in fostering a sense of belonging not only within our company but also in the communities we serve,” said Matthew Totzke, CEO. “This award reflects our commitment to creating welcoming spaces that benefit our employees, visitors, and neighbors alike.”

The Civic Beautification Award is presented annually to businesses that demonstrate excellence in landscaping across three categories: large garden, medium garden, and small garden. Big Ideas Learning was honored in the large garden category alongside other local businesses that have contributed to beautifying the Erie community.
